Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, named after a great mathematician of 12th Century was set up in October, 1995. This is a constituent college of University of Delhi and is fully supported and funded by Government of NCT, Delhi. The sprawling campus of the college spans about ten acres of land with exquisite landscaping and captivating architecture. The college has well equipped laboratories, extensive library facility, classrooms with LCD projectors, auditorium, open air theatre and a spacious sports ground. The campus of the college is wi-f enabled. The college provides a stimulating environment for holistic development of the students. They are motivated to excel in academics and attain University positions in their respective disciplines. They are provided with ample opportunities through participation in several extracurricular activities organized by various clubs, societies and committees. The societies of various Departments provide a platform for interaction with renowned academicians and scientists from their respective felds.
The main objective of our short term add- on courses is to impart skills which they require while seeking jobs and to sharpen their knowledge. To run these skill oriented courses we have not only good infrastructure but also talented faculty. Besides this we also invite resource persons from Industry, Hospitals & Research Institutes so that the students get the maximum benefit. Eligibility and Requirement Individuals with requisite qualifications (10+2) are eligible to apply and seek admission. The duration of each course shall be up to 50 lectures or 12 weeks. Details can be obtained from the coordinator of each course. On successful completion of the course, a certificate will be awarded by the college The college will charge a fee of Rs. 2000/- PA for each course. An additional Rs. 1000/- would be charged for the courses that includes practicals. The student who wish to enroll in the course need to fill the proforma available in the college office.
Various Research Projects are being conducted in the College with an objective of encouraging trans-disciplinary research and to inculcate research aptitude, skills and synergy among students and faculty. In these research projects, students and faculty of the college are actively involved. The focus is to nurture talent of young minds by stimulating them to pursue excellence and teach them to think creatively so that they become technologically superior and academically competent.
The Department of Biotechnology has launched Star College Scheme with an aim to strengthen life science and biotechnology education and training at undergraduate level. The purpose is to improve critical thinking and 'hands on' experimental work in the cutting edge-technologies needed for modern biological studies at undergraduate (college) level in life sciences and as a result of such experiences, more students will take up life science as a career

The Better Process Control School (BPCS) certifies supervisors of thermal processing systems, acidification, and container closure evaluation programs for low-acid and acidified canned foods. According to FDA regulations, each processor/manufacturer of low-acid and acidified low-acid canned foods, including pet foods, must operate with a trained supervisor on hand at all times. These regulations are designed to prevent public health problems in these types of foods. Our BPCS teaches the practical applications of the principles underlying these regulations. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, University of Delhi as an institution which is competent to deliver Better Process Control School (BPCS).
Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences has organized a Two- Day National workshop the topic “Intellectual Property Rights: Culmination of Research” on September 23-24, 2016. The workshop was supported by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Government of India). Sh. Zakir Thomas, Additional Director General of Directorate of Income Tax (Risk Assessment) was the Chief Guest for inaugural ceremony of the workshop. NSS Cell of the college is active in developing social & civic responsibilityand nationalharmony skills among students. NSS cell organized the following activities in 2016
➤ NSS cell organised celebrated BasantPanchmi on Feb 12, 2016 in association with ECO club.
➤ NSS cell organised a work shop on ColourAcupressure on April 19, 2016. Dr. Ajay Mishra explained importance of Colour Acupressure in curing various diseases.
➤ NSS cell organised a lecture of Sh. N.K . Singh ( Sr.TV Journalist) on Meaning of Aazadi for the Youth of India on 31st August 2016
➤ NSS cell celebrated NSS day on September 24, 2016. On this occasion ,a slogan writing competition on Ill effects of Drug Addiction was organised in the college in association with the Anti-Tobacco Cell of the college. 63 students participated in the competition. The competition was judged by Dr.BalaramPani (Principal of College), Sh. YashwantDevPanwar (Head PFC, TIFAC, New Delhi) in which best three slogans were selected and cash prizes (as per directed by NSS Cell, University of Delhi) were given to winning students.
Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) are aimed to develop talent, skill, discipline, responsibility, ethics and social awareness amongst students. In this academic year, the ECA committee along with various clubs of our college organized Independence day function-”AZADI’70-yaad karo kurbaani”.
“Songs of India”- an inter-college Choir and Solo Comepetition was organized in collaboration with ‘The Cultural Council’ of University of Delhi in college premises on October 7, 2016
“Rashtriya Ekta Saptaha(Vigilance week)” was also organized with great zeal and enthutsiasm. This One week had a plethora of exciting cultural events which included music, dance and drama performances and were being accompanied by debate and slogan writing competition, cap and tshirt painting competition,etc. The most importatant of all .i.e., Rashtriya ekta pledge to spread the positive vibes of unity in our young gemeration.
ECA team is also preparing to conduct the two more events in the upcoming semester, one of which is our annual cultural festival “SRIJAN”. The details for the following will be updated soon on our website.
The College Library was set up in 1995 with the mission to cater to the information needs of the students and the faculty. The library functions as an information resource centre for the college in achieving its aim. The library is housed in a spacious and well-lit three storied building called the library block. Reading Room, Reprography and Internet etc. are some of the facilities being provided by the library. It has a strong collection of nearly 24000 volumes of books including reference books, 336 bound volumes of journals and 491 CD-ROMs. Apart from the in-house collection, the library has full access to the thousands of journals online which are being subscribed to by the Central Reference Library (University of Delhi). The Library is also subscribing to N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure of Scholarly Contents) Programme - (a collection of E- Resources under UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium)
Students of the college also participated in several sports events conducted by University of Delhi and other organizations. Surender Singh Pal of B. Tech. (2nd Year) Food Technology secured 3rd position in 20 km walk in the Inter college Athletic Meet held at Delhi University Ground. Annual sports meet was organized on March 13, 2015 at college in which the students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. College staff cricket team participated in Archarya Narender Dev College 20-20 Cricket Tournament and reached up to semifinal level. For developing infrastructure a rowing machine, and many other gym equipments were added to the collection of exercise machines available at the college gym.
